With a bit of thought this movie could have been so much better.saying that there are some really lovely moments.between Babs and Lauren especially but time to move on from conventional beauty being the be all and end all.you can see this is a huge thing for Babs due to the real life amount of (alleged) surgery/treatments she’s had.it’s not a terrible movie and passes an hour or two but really the mirror only has one face.Babs’.Rose Morgan (Barbra Streisand), who still lives with her mother (Lauren Bacall), is a professor of Romantic Literature who desperately longs for passion in her life. why not if you’re directing? She’s not the greatest of actors unless she’s asked to play a New York Jew - which she is and that’s just fine however her mum and sister )Mimi Rogers) do not appear to be from New York though I know that Lauren Bacall was one of us chosen people. I’ve always thought she was incredibly beautiful with her superb nose and lioness eyes.Jeff looks like he’s really struggling at times and as the director Babs makes sure to light herself in a golden glow and paint herself as a saint. understandable if you’re a teenager but she should know better.

Of a professor is nothing short of delusional all the boy students in the class fawn and swoon over her.while she babbles on in a very conversational and non academic way.I would ask for my money back from the course of I were them.Lauren Bacall looks amazing but her ‘snappy’ one liners are abysmal for example “ I should never have taught you to speak”.ha ha.it’s full of weak attractive men and Babs puts so much emphasis on looks it’s incredible. Babs is obviously trying to start a little catch phrase she keeps saying ‘talk to me’ sometimes at misplaced ’s hardly ‘do you trust me?’ Or ‘I’ll never let go’.
Jeff bridges is a fantastic actor and he tries in this but his persona doesn’t fit with the lothario he’s painted as initially. She has no reason to feel insecure and yet she clearly is.
I will start by saying Barbra Streisand is one of the greatest singer/songwriters in the world.
